The Aphrodite Trail
A circular mountain walk above the Baths of Aphrodite, with the sea always in view.
Starting at the Baths of Aphrodite, this loop climbs into the wild Akamas peninsula through juniper and pine, past the ruins of Pyrgos tis Rigainas and an ancient oak, up to high viewpoints over Chrysochou Bay before descending back to the coast.
What you'll see
- The Baths of Aphrodite grotto and pool at the start
- The ruins of Pyrgos tis Rigainas, the 'Queen's Tower'
- A giant oak said to be some 500 years old
- Panoramic views over Chrysochou Bay and Cape Arnaoutis
- The wild flora and birdlife of the Akamas

The walk
From the Baths car park the trail climbs steadily inland, loops past the Pyrgos ruins and the old oak, reaches its high viewpoints, then descends back toward the coast road. It is a proper half-day circuit with real ascent and some rocky, exposed stretches.
Getting there
At the end of the road past Latchi and Neo Chorio, about 50 minutes from Paphos; park at the Baths of Aphrodite tourist pavilion. Get directions →
Good to know before you go
Bring plenty of water, a hat and good shoes — the trail is exposed and rocky with little shade, so avoid the summer midday heat. A swim at nearby Latchi makes a fine finish.
