Caledonia Waterfall Trail
A shaded climb beside the cold river to a 13-metre fall in the heart of Troodos.
The Caledonia trail follows the Kryos Potamos — the 'cold river' — up through pine and plane trees to the 13-metre Caledonia Falls, the prettiest waterfall in Troodos. Homesick Scottish visitors are said to have named it after their own highlands.
What you'll see
- The 13-metre Caledonia Falls at the heart of the walk
- The Kryos Potamos river and its little wooden footbridges
- Deep shade and birdsong under the pines
- Endemic Troodos plants along the riverbanks
- The trout restaurant at Psilo Dendro at the lower end

The walk
From the trailhead near the Troodos–Platres road the path descends and then climbs beside the river, crossing wooden footbridges to reach the falls, and continues down to Psilo Dendro. It is steep and rocky in places, and wet feet are likely where the water runs across the path.
Getting there
Between Troodos Square and Pano Platres; park near the Presidential cottage trailhead at the top or at Psilo Dendro at the bottom and walk up to the falls. Get directions →
Good to know before you go
Steep and slippery when wet, so proper shoes are needed; it stays cool even in summer, so carry water. It is one of the busier Troodos trails on weekends.
