One of the highest trails in Cyprus, this gentle 3 km loop circles from the Kampos tou Livadiou picnic site inside the Troodos National Forest Park at around 1,680–1,700 m. Nearly level throughout, it makes an easy, cooling walk among black pine and gnarled ancient junipers, with wide views over the Solea valley and Morphou Bay. It sits within a Natura 2000 zone.

What you’ll see

  • Views to the Solea valley and Morphou Bay
  • Stands of black pine and centuries-old junipers
  • Cool, high-altitude air even in summer
  • Endemic Cyprus flora and golden oak
  • Picnic site with drinking water at the start

The walk

From the Kampos tou Livadiou picnic site the trail sets off nearly on the level, sharing its first stretch with an adjoining path before looping away on its own. It winds through open high-mountain forest of black pine and twisted junipers, opening now and then to broad views north and west across the ranges. The gentle grade makes it suitable for almost anyone, and it returns you neatly to the picnic ground where you can rest and refill water.

Good to know before you go

At nearly 1,700 m it can hold snow and be bitterly cold in winter, so it is best late spring to autumn; even summer days can be breezy up here.
